Rapper and clothing mogul Kanye West says he will add “more zeros” to US currency if he is elected President in November.
The announcement came at a press conference outside the home he shares with wife Kim Kardashian.
“Are you saying this figuratively, as in people will earn more money if you are elected,” asked NBC’s Karen Booth.
West then clarified his statement. “That’s not what I mean at all,” he said. “I mean we will add zeroes to existing money. Instantly, your ones become tens, your tens become hundreds, and your Benjamins would turn into thousand dollar bills. You feel me?”
The entertainer turned politician is said to have a net worth of $1.3 billion. If his initiative were to come to fruition, West’s net worth would jump to $10.3 billion.
“Won’t this just cause everything we buy to have an extra zero too, making our wealth no bigger than it actually is,” Booth asked in a followup question. “Correct,” said West. “But it’s all about attitude. People feel better with thousands in their pockets. I’m all about making America feel great again.”
